Invitation to the 7th POLISH ITS CONGRESS

The 6th edition of the Congress was attended by more than 300 people, representing Polish and European companies operating in the ITS sector, as well as local and central government authorities, universities of technology and industry-specific magazines. Forty per cent of the attendees were representatives of local government authorities. This is a shared success for the entire ITS industry and the members of ITS POLSKA involved in the success of the Congress.

As is the case every year, the Programme Council will do its best to ensure that the programme of the event includes the most interesting and topical issues related to Intelligent Transportation Systems. Speakers are expected to talk about topics and issues of key significance for the ITS industry, including traffic management systems: an assessment of the current implementation process, traffic management systems: the new implementation perspective, motion detection systems, collection of toll for entry to town / city centres, integration of toll collection systems on out-of-town roads in Poland and Europe, e-Tickets, public transport: dynamic passenger information systems and multimodal platforms, ITS solutions that increase road traffic safety, meteorological protection, satellite navigation systems, rail transport, innovative ITS project financing solutions, law and contractual T&Cs, ITS market standardisation, parking systems and dual-use technology. Summary of the Intertraffic Fair 2014
25-28 March 2014, Amsterdam, Netherlands

During the International INTERTRAFFIC AMSTERDAM Fair 2014, which was held between 25 and 28 March 2014 in Amsterdam, three companies were present at the common stand of the members of ITS POLSKA: APM, Neurosoft and Telsat. The stand with the area of 20 square metres was situated in the section "ITS/Traffic Management".

On January 14th, 2014, the inauguration ceremony of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Cluster has been held at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development. Among the attendees of the ceremony were numerous representatives of universities, research units and enterprises. This event is the beginning of the initiation of the integration phase of cooperation between transportation research and government environments for the future of transport.

ITS POLSKA kindly thanks everyone for notifying their attendance at the business lunch to which we invited MP Stanisław Żmijan, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission of Infrastructure. The meeting took place on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Library Room of the IBB Grand Lublinianka Hotel in Lublin (ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 56, Lublin). The meeting was preceded by a press conference attended by local media representatives.

Representatives of the following companies and institutions have confirmed their attendance: Deputy Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship, General Directorate for Road and Motorways, ALDESA, Hewlett-Packard, iKOM, Motor Transport Institute, ITS Polska Lublin, Lublin Road Works Company, Polish ITS Congress, Technical University of Warsaw, Lublin branch of Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., Siemens, Sprint, Texel and the Białystok City Office.
The Intelligent Transport Systems Cluster has been created

On September 23, 2013, the Intelligent Transport Systems Cluster was created following the initiative of ITS POLSKA. The reason behind creating the Cluster was the need to establish a platform for mutual cooperation and exchange of knowledge between enterprises, R&D units and public authorities in the domain of Intelligent Transport Systems, as well as to provide support for their interfacing and augmentation of innovative potential.

All actions taken by the Cluster are aimed at promoting and supporting the development of Intelligent Transport Systems in Poland. The Cluster's objectives include primarily such actions as support for growth and innovation in the field of intelligent transport solutions, shaping the transport policy, providing intellectual support in the domain of intelligent transport systems, popularization and increase of knowledge concerning intelligent transport systems, and cooperation with local authorities, trade union, social and economic organizations, and state institutions. The Cluster is coordinated by ITS POLSKA and intends to be supported in the future by partners such as universities, R&D units and enterprises.

On 15 September 2013, the members of ITS POLSKA attended a business breakfast meeting with the honorary participation of Mr MarcinFlieger, director of CANARD - Automated Road Traffic Control Centre, the General Road Transport Inspectorate.

Parliamentary Team for Intelligent Transport and Logistics Systems established

On 23 July 2013, a Parliamentary Team for Intelligent Transportation and Logistics Systems was established.The idea behind appointing the team was to promote and support the development of Intelligent Transportation and Logistics Systems.

The team's tasks include, in particular:
- supporting and undertaking measures that encourage the development of intelligent transportation and logistics systems in order to support the broadly defined development of the transport system; -  putting forward proposals and establishing cooperation with central and local government authorities, industry organisations, higher education institutions and scientific self-government bodies in order to support and promote intelligent transportation and logistics systems;  - promoting a partnership of knowledge and solutions for intelligent transportation and logistics systems with the aim of improving the operation of the transport system, increasing its economic efficiency, improving safety and reducing its negative impact on the environment and society, while contributing to Poland’s economy; - cooperating with experts, organisations, opinion-forming communities and the media in order to support and promote intelligent transportation and logistics systems as a direction for the development of a modern, innovative and competitive transport market.

The Parliamentary Team for Intelligent Transportation and Logistics Systems is now made up of 11 MPs:Bartłomiej Bodio (Chairman), Maciej Banaszak (Deputy Chairman), Dariusz Cezar Dziadzio (Deputy Chairman), Artur Bramora, Michał Tomasz Pacholski, Zbigniew Rynasiewicz, Jerzy Szmit, Adam Kępiński, Lucjan Marek Pietrzczyk, Paweł Sajak, Stanisław Żmijan.

Agreement on cooperation in the field of ITS between ITS POLSKA and the City of Warsaw

On 15 July 2013, an agreement was signed in Warsaw between ITS POLSKA and the City of Warsaw on cooperation in the field of intelligent transportation systems.The document was signed by MarekLitwin, president of the ITS POLSKA, and MieczysławReksnis, director of the Office of Road Engineering & Transport, Warsaw City Hall.

The agreement is a formal document establishing cooperation involving, for example, exchanging knowledge and experience in the area of intelligent transportation systems and offering mutual support in activities promoting intelligent transportation systems and expanding the body of knowledge in the field.
