Diploma award ceremony on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of ITS POLSKA's operations
The Ceremony, held on 16 May 2017, was exceptional not only because of the fact that LIDER ITS awards were given, but also as it commemorated the 10th anniversary of ITS POLSKA Intelligent Transport Systems Association’s establishment, and gave the idea of organising the event, which has become the most important event for the industry in Poland – the POLISH ITS CONGRESS. Among the many members of ITS POLSKA whom we would like to thanks at this juncture, there are 5 companies and institutions that have been with us for 10 years, since our very inception.
Anniversary diplomas commemorating the 10th anniversary of ITS POLSKA were awarded to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (a founding member of ITS POLSKA), the Motor Transport Institute (a founding member of ITS POLSKA), the Faculty of Transport of the Warsaw University of Technology (a founding member of ITS POLSKA), Egis Projects Poland and Elektrotim. Summary of the anniversary of the 10th POLISH ITS CONGRESS
The 10th anniversary Polish ITS Congress was held in the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria hotel on 16-17 May this year. Nearly 350 participants from companies involved in Intelligent Transport Systems, governmental bodies, local authorities, technical universities and the industry press gathered for the event organised by the ITS POLSKA Association. Results of the 8th edition of the LIDER ITS 2017 competitionThe jury selected the best entries submitted to the LIDER ITS 2017 competition. The award ceremony took place on the first day of the 10th Polish ITS Congress. This year's competition was held under the honorary auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction, the National Road Safety Council, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, the General Inspectorate for Road Transport, the EU Transport Projects Centre and the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Roads.
This year's 2017 edition is the eight LIDER ITS 2017 competition. As every year, the submitted works were evaluated before the start of the Congress. The Jury: Prof. Wojciech Suchorzewski – chairman, Prof. Jerzy Mikulski, Dr. Eng. Tomasz Kamiński, Dr. Eng. Marek Litwin, Dr. Eng. Jacek Oskarbski, MsC. Marek Rolla and Piotr Krukowski, MA selected the winners and those receiving commendation in subject categories.

Best product-device implemented by ITS companies:
Lider 2017: APM PRO Sp. Z O.O./University of Bielsko Biała/Synchrogop Sp. J.
The jury awarded the LIDER ITS 2017 statuette for ITS didactic and research practice to the University of Bielsko-Biała.
Commendation: Sprint S.A.
for the delivery and installation of ITS under a state-funded programme “Upgrade and development of an integrated mass-transit transport system in Olsztyn”.
Best research and scientific work:
Lider 2017: Paweł Gora, MA
for work entitled: “Approximation of computer traffic simulation results using neural networks.”
Best graduate diploma thesis:
Lider 2017: MSc. Aleksander Jan Dębski
The jury awarded a LIDER ITS 2017 statuette to Mr Aleksander Dębski for his diploma thesis entitled: “Concept of using V2I to improve traffic in a coordinated traffic light sequence.”
The LIDER ITS 2017 award gala was held during the 10th Polish Intelligent Transport System Congress 2017 (www.pkits.pl) on 16 May 2017 in Warsaw.
The Code of Good Practice (part III) - ITS as a tool for achieving sustainable mobility policy objectives was prepared
The third part of the Code of Good Practice was developed by the ITS Architecture and Standardization Committee (KASI), acting under the ITS POLSKA Association. The Committee is chaired by Dr. Eng. Tomasz Kamiński – head of the Transport Telematics Centre of the Motor Transport Institute. This document is the third in a series devoted to the effective implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems in Poland. The code was developed by leading ITS research institutes and ITS market leaders, deploying ITS systems in our country, working within the ITS Architecture and Standardization Committee. More>>

On 24-25th November 2016, at Prezydencki Hotel in Rzeszów, a seminar was held, entitled "Intelligent Transport System in Rzeszów." The event attracted over 110 participants (representatives of government bodies, self-governments, including municipalities, road administrators, and representatives of service sector, of organisations, universities, research centres, and press). The event was organised by Association of Intelligent Transportation Systems ITS POLSKA and the Municipality of the City of Rzeszów. The seminar was under the patronage of the President of the City of Rzeszów, Mr Tadeusz Ferenc. Main partners of the event were: Asseco Data Systems and Siemens; with Content Partners: Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Pixel and R&G. The Summary of the Breakfast Shared by ITS POLAND Members

ITS POLAND thanks for the participation in the breakfast attended by Mr Piotr Pryciński, Deputy Director of the Programme Management Department at the National Research and Development Centre (NCBR). The meeting was scheduled for 20 September 2016 at 10-12 AM at the Concept 13 Restaurant (ul. Bracka 9) in Warsaw. The meeting was opened and chaired by Tomasz Kamiński, PhD, Eng, of the Institute of Car Transport. The discussion concerned the change of the form of project funding, in which the beneficiary is a company, while a scientific organization (school or research institute) is a subcontractor who may carry out tasks commissioned by the beneficiary of funds. The participants mentioned the need to provide own contribution to a project's budget. The amount of such contribution depends on the type of the contest, size of the company and nature of the research (basic or industrial research) and usually amounts up to 40%. More>>
