A summary of ITS POLSKA’s
Traffic Management Systems - Technology, Organisation, Financing Seminar

On 21 April 2011, a seminar called Traffic Management Systems: Technology, Organisation, Financing was held at Quality Hotel, Poznań, Poland.    The event was organised by ITS POLSKA (Intelligent Transportation Systems) under the patronage of the Poznań Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, and with the Municipal Roads Authority in Poznań and the Poznań University of Technology as Partners.

The objective of the seminar was to discuss solutions for planning and designing, dimensioning, interior design, the use of display walls, workstations and server rooms, as well as examples of traffic management systems operating in other cities, plus the related legal requirements and the need to co-operate with, among others, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
 
The seminar was attended by nearly 80 people, including representatives of the service sector (47%), local government institutions (41%), higher-education institutions (5%), research institutes and organisations (4%) and the press (3%).

The first part of the seminar included presentations, as Expertise Partners, by speakers representing the following companies: Barco, Gevas Software, OpenSky Systems and Services, MSR Traffic, and Thales. By courtesy of the Municipal Roads Authority in Poznań, the event included a tour of the Poznań Traffic Control Centre.
