ITS POLSKA Association and "Przegląd ITS" magazine would like to inform you about the results of the second edition of LIDER ITS 2011 competition. The competition committee chaired by Prof. Wojciech Suchorzewski has selected 4 finalists of individual categories and granted 4 distinctions. Below you will find the list of the winners:

Category: THE BEST PRODUCT
Lider ITS 2011:

TELSAT

For the construction of road traffic handling system at Mariacka, Stanisława and Mielęckiego streets in Katowice city centre. The investment is a comprehensive solution for monitoring the traffic of vehicles in the limited traffic area based on an automatic reading of registration plates. The system is connected with the enforcement of restrictions in the access to the limited traffic and parking area in the city centre.

Distinction:
PKP INFORMATYKA

For MERKURY Mobile Ticket Vending System. This is a comprehensive IT solution that uses the latest technologies and facilitates the ticket selling process and improves the passenger service quality. This solution enables a complete elimination of manual ticket sales and automation of the sales settlement process.

LIDER ITS 2011:

RYBNIK
(Public Transport Board in Rybnik)

For the Fee Collection System in public transport system using the Rybnik Electronic Ticket Card.  Using one e-card recharged with single tickets, the transport of the whole family as well as its single members may be paid for. Also the transport of several people may be paid for, irrespective of the ticket type, e.g. adult and child ticket.

Distinction:
KATOWICE
(Katowice City Hall)

For the implementation of the road traffic handling system at the selected streets of Katowice city centre. It is based on hydraulic poles being raised and lowered, situated at the junctions of streets subject to the limited traffic. The streets have been transformed into pedestrian passages with a limited traffic of vehicles in connection with the access to lots, supplies and municipal services.

LIDER ITS 2011:

IBDiM/NEUROSOFT

For the Intelligent Comprehensive Vehicle Identification System (ISKIP). This is a universal automatic vehicle identification system based on a simultaneous recognition of a vehicle type, colour, make, model and registration number. The system comprises three fully compatible components, including a network of Autonomous Measurement Points installed, mainly, on the roads, Mobile Data Acquisition System installed in the vehicles and Central Statistical System.

Distinction:
MOTOR TRANSPORT INSTITUTE

For the functional structure design for the National Automatic Toll Collection System for motorways and expressways. The design comprises, among others, NATCS, technical specification of devices within NATCS and technical specification of the National Automatic Toll Collection Centre.

Category: THE BEST MSc THESIS

LIDER ITS 2011:

KAROLINA KRZYKOWSKA
(Warsaw University of Technology)

For the MSc thesis entitled: “Concept of implementation of advanced surface movement guidance and control systems for a selected airport”. The purpose of the thesis was to present a concept of implementation of A-SMGCS in the largest Polish airport, i.e.  F. Chopin Airport in Warsaw. In the thesis, the author proposed implementation of the first level of A-SMGCS to facilitate the operation of the ground air traffic control in the area of monitoring.  

Distinction:
KAROL OCHELSKI
(Silesia University of Technology)

For the MA thesis entitled: "Implementation stand for traffic light programmes operated by MSR-2002 driver". The thesis involved development of traffic light programmes for selected junctions. The programmes were calculated in the CROSSIG software. After the junction model was exported to VISSIM and after a traffic simulation was carried out, the information about the light programme was transferred to the driver. After programming the MSR-2002 driver, its work may be viewed in CrossVis.


The statuettes, diplomas and awards will be given on May 25th, 2011 during an evening gala at the 4th Polish Intelligent Transport Systems Congress at "Zachęta" National Gallery of Art.
