Summary of European Commission's session about horizontal programs
27th May 2014, Warsaw

On 27 May 2014 a session of European Commission about horizontal programs was held in Warsaw, organized at POLISH ITS CONGRESS 2014. The session was addressed mainly to representatives of polish companies, universities and local government who wished to consult particular ideas regarding applying for funds from horizontal programs.

The meeting was organized by The European Commission Representation in Poland, in partnership with The European Commission Directorate-General of Mobility and Transport and ITS POLAND association.

Session was conducted by: Filip Skawiński of The European Commission Representation, Marek Litwin – chairman of ITS POLAND, deputy Bartłomiej Bodio of Parliament's Infrastructure Commission and Paweł Stelmaszczyk, special envoy of The European Commission Directorate-General of Mobility and Transport, responsible for transport projects in Poland as part of the Connecting Europe Facility instrument, who presented the possibilities of using CEF in a concise manner.

Topics raised during the meeting included mainly issues regarding the TEN-T and Connecting Europe Facility guidelines, possibilities of co-funding ITS projects, aid for innovative solutions in transport as well as project receipt and evaluation procedures and project formal requirements.

Connecting Europe Facility - CEF instrument is a new fund made to finance projects in development, construction and modernization of existing infrastructure in transport, energy and telecommunications. There is 4,4 billion EUR for Poland to make use of from this fund until 2016.
