The first day of the seminar was split into three parts; each of them ending with a discussion and questions from the attendants to the speakers. The formal opening of the seminar was done by Marek Litwin, the President of ITS POLSKA.

On behalf of the City Council of Bydgoszcz, the attendants were welcomed by the Deputy President of the City,Mirosław Kozłowicz. "The ITS System is a big step forward in traffic engineering in our city, however as we know, at this moment it is not enough to build additional roads, rails or traffic lights; considering the present congestion and the pace of modern cities, it is necessary to adopt actions which consist in optimum traffic control, public transport control and finding those last capacity reserves we are left with. This is precisely why we need systems like the one we are currently implementing. After the tests, we are virtually positive that our system will bring to the Seminar The Construction of the Integrated Traffic Management System in Bydgoszcz tangible benefits, also for the passengers of public transport, in particular the rail transport. Such benefits shall have many aspects, they will be good for the passenger who commutes faster, but they will also be good for our city through lower operating costs and faster travel" said the Deputy President of the City, Mirosław Kozłowicz.

The series of lectures presented at the first part of the conference was started by Sprint's Mariusz Kołkowski and Tomasz Kuliński, who presented the architecture and functionality of the ITS system in Bydgoszcz. In the next part of the conference, the representatives of the main contractor of the system in Bydgoszcz presented their subsystem for traffic control SCATS in Bydgoszcz, along with innovative systems for improving safety in road traffic as a possible subsystem of the Intelligent Transport System in Bydgoszcz. Bartosz Banaś of the Management of City Roads and Public Transport in Bydgoszcz presented the details of the implementation of the Road Management System in Bydgoszcz about the area of implementation, its purposes and effectiveness. At the end of the first day of the seminar, a lecture was given by the President of ITS Polska, Marek Litwin, who thanked all the attendants for their coming and active participation in discussions; further, he congratulated the city for the implementation of the management project. Moreover, he pointed out that investments in ITS have twofold returns - one is the improvement of the safety of transport and more effective use of infrastructure, while the other - the construction of a strong economy of the public sector, developing competences in the area of most up-to-date technologies. The first day of the seminar was rounded off with a formal supper for all attendants, which took place at the Za Piecem restaurant.

During the second day of the conference, a tour at the Traffic Management Centre in Bydgoszcz took place. Sprint's Mariusz Kołkowski and Daniel Jaros shown the attendants to the Centre, presented the functionality of the system and replied to all questions of the visitors.
