Co-operation agreement between Stowarzyszenie ITS POLSKA and ITS Korea
On 29 September 2014 in Marriott hotel in Warsaw, ITS POLSKA and ITS KOREA signed a co-operation agreement during the bilateral Poland-Korea Economic Forum on economic relations between Poland and the Republic of Korea concerning commerce, investments and public procurements. “The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to establish a bilateral relationship and develop cooperation between ITS Korea and ITS Polska (the parties) in important matters pertaining to ITS research, planning, and deployment in the two countries.  Particular attention will be given to improving membership value and promoting research, educational, and commercial cooperation between the parties."

The birth of KASI – Architecture and Intelligent Transport Systems Standarization Committee
Architecture and Intelligent Transport Systems Standarization Committee (KASI for short) was constituted – collegial organ of continuous character has begun its work by the ITS POLAND Association's Board. Dr Tomasz Kamiński was named the Committee's chairman – he is the director of Transport Management and Telematics Centre in the Automobile Transport Institute. Committee has constituted formally on 22nd May 2014 through resolution no. 1 of Association's Board.

Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation of ITS POLSKA and the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications
On 28 May 2014, during the 7th Polish ITS Congress, which took place in Warsaw, Krzysztof Król and Marek Litwin concluded the Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation between the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications and ITS POLSKA. The parties will jointly aim to perform activities in order to integrate transportation communities, all organizations and structures operating to increase the economic efficiency and safety of transportation taking into account environmental safety and economic benefits for Poland.
ITS POLAND constituted the Architecture and Intelligent Transport Systems Standarization Committee
On 31st March 2014 ITS POLSKA Association Board Meeting decided to create (under ITS POLAND Association) the Architecture and Intelligent Transport Systems Standarization Committee.


The Intelligent Transport Systems Cluster has been created
On September 23, 2013, the Intelligent Transport Systems Cluster was created following the initiative of ITS POLSKA. The reason behind creating the Cluster was the need to establish a platform for mutual cooperation and exchange of knowledge between enterprises, R&D units and public authorities in the domain of Intelligent Transport Systems, as well as to provide support for their interfacing and augmentation of innovative potential.

All actions taken by the Cluster are aimed at promoting and supporting the development of Intelligent Transport Systems in Poland. The Cluster's objectives include primarily such actions as support for growth and innovation in the field of intelligent transport solutions, shaping the transport policy, providing intellectual support in the domain of intelligent transport systems, popularization and increase of knowledge concerning intelligent transport systems, and cooperation with local authorities, trade union, social and economic organizations, and state institutions. The Cluster is coordinated by ITS POLSKA and intends to be supported in the future by partners such as universities, R&D units and enterprises.


Parliamentary Team for Intelligent Transport and Logistics Systems established

On 23 July 2013, a Parliamentary Team for Intelligent Transportation and Logistics Systems was established.The idea behind appointing the team was to promote and support the development of Intelligent Transportation and Logistics Systems.

The team's tasks include, in particular:
- supporting and undertaking measures that encourage the development of intelligent transportation and logistics systems in order to support the broadly defined development of the transport system; -  putting forward proposals and establishing cooperation with central and local government authorities, industry organisations, higher education institutions and scientific self-government bodies in order to support and promote intelligent transportation and logistics systems;  - promoting a partnership of knowledge and solutions for intelligent transportation and logistics systems with the aim of improving the operation of the transport system, increasing its economic efficiency, improving safety and reducing its negative impact on the environment and society, while contributing to Poland’s economy; - cooperating with experts, organisations, opinion-forming communities and the media in order to support and promote intelligent transportation and logistics systems as a direction for the development of a modern, innovative and competitive transport market.


The Parliamentary Team for Intelligent Transportation and Logistics Systems is now made up of 11 MPs:Bartłomiej Bodio (Chairman), Maciej Banaszak (Deputy Chairman), Dariusz Cezar Dziadzio (Deputy Chairman), Artur Bramora, Michał Tomasz Pacholski, Zbigniew Rynasiewicz, Jerzy Szmit, Adam Kępiński, Lucjan Marek Pietrzczyk, Paweł Sajak, Stanisław Żmijan.

Agreement on cooperation in the field of ITS between ITS POLSKA and the City of Warsaw
On 15 July 2013, an agreement was signed in Warsaw between ITS POLSKA and the City of Warsaw on cooperation in the field of intelligent transportation systems.The document was signed by MarekLitwin, president of the ITS POLSKA, and MieczysławReksnis, director of the Office of Road Engineering & Transport, Warsaw City Hall.

The agreement is a formal document establishing cooperation involving, for example, exchanging knowledge and experience in the area of intelligent transportation systems and offering mutual support in activities promoting intelligent transportation systems and expanding the body of knowledge in the field.

Cooperation agreement between ITS POLSKA and ITS UK
On 13 May 2013, during the Polish ITS Congress, the president of ITS POLSKA, MarekLitwin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a representative of ITS UK, Richard Harris."The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to establish a bilateral relationship and develop cooperation between ITS United Kingdom and ITS Polska (the parties) in important matters pertaining to ITS research, planning, and deployment in the two countries.  Particular attention will be given to improving membership value and promoting research, educational, and commercial cooperation between the parties."

ITS POLSKA’s first regional branch opened in Lublin
On 12 June 2012, the Lublin branch of ITS POLSKA was opened.Yesterday, the president of ITS POLSKA, MarekLitwin, and an initiative group led by Jerzy Ekiert attended a meeting with a member of the Lublin Province Government Board, Mr JacekSobczak, who is responsible for infrastructure and who offered his support for the initiative of establishing the Lublin branch.At 11 a.m., a press conference was held, attended by representatives of the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways; Mr ZdzisławTworek, the Head of the Department of Road Traffic Safety; and Mr MarekŻmijan.More>>

Cooperation agreement between ITS POLSKA Association
and General Directorate for National Roads and MotorwaysOn November 24, 2011, the ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) Association and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways signed an agreement for their cooperation in developing a set of nine Technical Specifications to systematise and standardise the process of preparing and implementing infrastructure projects involving the use of intelligent transportation systems. The agreement was signed at a meeting of ERTICO and ITS Nationals (Network Meetings of ITS National Associations) in Łódź, Poland, hosted by ITS POLSKA.

and Polish Association of Transport Telematics PSTT
On May 25th, 2011 ITS POLSKA Intelligent Transportation Systems Association and Polish Association of Transport Telematics PSTT entered into a cooperation agreement. The documents were officially signed during the 4th Polish ITS Congress organised in Warsaw. The document was signed by the respective Board Presidents of both organisations – Marek Litwin on behalf of ITS POLSKA and Jerzy Mikulski on behalf of PSTT.

PSTT represents people interested in creation of a modern transportation market. Together with ITS POLSKA, they will strive after taking activities aimed at integration of transportation environments, all organisations and structures whose operations are aimed at increasing the economic efficiency and safety of transport considering the environmental protection for the benefit of the Polish economy.

Cooperation agreement between ITS POLSKA Association
and the Polish Road Congress
On April 14th, 2011 ITS POLSKA Intelligent Transportation Systems Association and the Polish Road Congress entered into a cooperation agreement. The documents were officially signed during the seminar entitled: “Computers in the management of roads - practical applications” organised by both parties.  The document was signed by the respective Board Presidents of both organisations – Marek Litwin on behalf of ITS POLSKA and Zbigniew Kotlarek on behalf of the Polish Road Congress.

The intention of ITS POLSKA Association and the Polish Road Congress will be to take activities aimed at development of common opinions and standpoints of the stakeholders for the government, Sejm, European Parliament, and other organisations significant for transportation circles.

ITS POLSKA Association and the Polish Road Congress have been cooperating for a long time, thus the execution of the agreement was only an official confirmation of the existing exchange of experience.

Cooperation agreement between ITS POLSKA Association
and Traffic Engineering Club KLIR
The agreement between ITS POLSKA Association and Traffic Engineering Club KLIR was signed on February 10th, 20p11 in Warsaw. In the agreement, both parties stated that, in the current situation of the transportation sector, they have common goals which authorise the associations to support each other in the performance of their statutory goals.

The associations declared cooperation in organising branch projects that are significant for both parties, including congresses, conferences and seminars devoted to the problem of transport and traffic engineering, with coordination by both parties of the dates and subjects of such conferences. 

Initiative group of organisation
of ITS POLSKA local branch in Lubelskie Province
We would like to inform you that on February 24th, 2011, the Board of Directors of ITS POLSKA Intelligent Transportation Systems Association agreed to the establishment of a local organisational entity in Lublin. ITS POLSKA would like to thank all initiators of the establishment of the Lublin Regional Branch.

It has been preliminarily agreed that the entity’s name would be: “ITS POLSKA – Lublin Regional Branch”. We assume that the Regional Branch of the association may also operate and acquire members in adjacent provinces which will not establish their local branches in a longer perspective. Due to the pioneering nature of the establishment of the branch in Lubelskie Province, the association together with the initiative group will soon develop the terms of operation of the local branch. The local organisational entity operates in accordance with § 29 (5) of the Statute, and office services for organisational entities operating within the Association are provided by the Association’s Secretariat pursuant to § 29 (5).

Due to your involvement, ITS POLSKA begins a new stage in the development of its operations enabling it to define new long-term goals to be attained together.

The founding meeting of the Association ITS POLSKA

The founding meeting of the Association - Intelligent Transport Systems "ITS Polska" (ITS Poland), took place on the 26-th of April 2007. The founding act has been signed at the Motor Transport Institute quarters - 80, Jagiellońska Str., Warsaw.

The association - ITS Polska has as its aim, forming partnership for knowledge to promote ITS solutions as a means to improve functioning of the transport, raising it economic effectiveness and safety, with environmental protection in mind as well as economic benefits for Poland stemming from integrating ITS organisations, and creating new markets.

ITS Polska will be an open organisation for the new member organisations, i.e. state institutions, and local government institutions, industry and services, research institutes, colleges of higher education and other organisations, private individuals associated with ITS topic, having its statutory tasks arranged based upon them. It has also been established that ITS Polska shall also co-operate with on ITS matters with equivalent organisations in Europe and around the world.

The activities of the ITS Polska are aimed to meet market expectations, in accordance with national strategy of development, assuming creation of a modern transport market.

The support given to the founding members by the Directorate for National Roads & Motorways, is a clear signal, that the ITS issues, are quickly gaining grounds in Poland.

The panel of the Founder Members of the ITS Polska, consists of the expert celebrities representing national transport society, including the representatives of the research institutes, services, state organisations, transport associations and academic centres. Mr Marek Litwin has been elected the President of the association, while Ryszard Krystek is the Chairman of The Supervisory Board and Mr Wojciech Suchorzewski - the Chairman of the Program Board.

Ceremonial signing of the Letter of Intent of Foundation of ITS POLSKA

On the 7th day of December 2006 the Letter of Intent has been officially signed at the premises of the Motor Transport Institute to create a partnership for Intelligent Transportation Systems and Services in Poland, named "ITS Polska".

The Foundation Committee of "ITS Polska" consists of:

Mr. Marek Litwin - Manager of the ITS Centre at the Motor Transport Institute

Professor Wojciech Suchorzewski - Warsaw University of Technology
Mr. Andrzej Wojciechowski - General Director of the Motor Transport Institute

The Foundation Committee has initiated a creation of a partnership for knowledge to promote a development of ITS technologies to improve the performance of the transportation system, increase its economic effectiveness, improve traffic safety, mitigate environmental issues in transportation and increase economic gain for Poland resulted from the creation of new markets.

The mission of "ITS Polska" will include promotion of cutting edge technologies and innovations. The Organization will remain open for new members coming from public institutions, industries, service providers, research institutes, universities and individuals concerned with ITS development who all will eventually become an intellectual base for ITS Polska's statutory objectives. "ITS Polska" will also be open for cooperation with other ITS organizations worldwide.

Dr. Marek Litwin was appointed by the Foundation Committee as a Coordinator for the Project.
